The assignment was to create an advertisement for Tom's of Maine natural products that communicated the benefits of the product. Tom's of Maine toothpaste, deodorant and other products are made from all-natural ingredients and do not contain any harsh chemicals that may be irritating to the body.
The solution for the advertisement was to create a photograph with representatives of the natural ingredients found in their most well-known product, natural deodorant. The ingredients were photographed on a white background to display their simple and clean nature and the tagline "natural-born freshness" was created to express the fact that the freshness of the hygiene products comes straight from the earth.
The advertisement successfully displays the natural quality of Tom's of Maine products in a way that shows all elements of the product without having to show the product itself. The tagline joined with the simple image communicate that Tom's products keep one fresh and clean with purely natural ingredients.
The goal of the project was to create a logo for a family-style Moroccan cuisine restaurant. The solution needed to be representative of Moroccan culture, food and the shared plate style of restaurant. It was also important that the logo communicate the relaxed setting of the environment.
The solution was created with the inspiration of Moroccan tiling and the bright colors seen in the marketplace. The name The Oven itself is centered around the theme of the community ovens seen in Morocco where the townspeople gather to bake their bread together. The colors maroon and orange represent the brightness of an oven's flame and the circle of forks displays the concept of a community meal.
The project successfully communicates the style of the restaurant and leaves the viewer with an automatic impression of Moroccan shared plates. The bright colors and the softness of the typefaces communicate the laid-back environment of the business.
