Assignment

Poster for a finissage of the exhibition "I've been here; I hope the same for You. Henryk Tomaszewski" in Zachęta – National Gallery of Art. Curator: Agnieszka Szewczyk. Date of the events: 7th – 8th of June (last weekend of the exhibition) and 10th June (finissage) 2014.
Place: Warsaw, Poland

Approach

I tried to keep my own visual language and try to confront it with the approach of Henryk Tomaszewski, not to copy the Master of Polish Poster School but to show what I have learned from his works. It was a tough lesson not to become an epigone and not to show a disrespect for Tomaszewski and his students.

Results

Students of Henryk Tomaszewski didn't kill me for what I've done to their Master – it was the best prize. Poster was displayed in some places across the Centre of Warsaw and the finissage was a heavy crowded event, so results were positive.
