I created the look for this section appealing to a new audience.

Another page for the Anchorage Daily News. We didn't have a large budget. I had to be resourceful and we ran this page 6 days a week.

This page won national recognition. That's great considering it was created in half a day with very little computer support.

I didn't have a big budget, just a lot of determination and ability to creative compelling images. This section was mostly about attitude. It was meant to keep the people in Alaska connected to what was going on in the rest of the US and the world of popular culture.

This sections redesign ended up winning a billion awards over time.
The best redesigns can be easily understood by the designers inheriting them.

I listened to a reporter's phone interview to get a sense of him. This is him: %$@!!xx and lovable too. So he ran big and mostly as a mouth on the page. The story fit inside the mouth. This was a newspaper page, so the mouth was really big.

It was a fun and surprising part of a daily newspaper.
