For United Airlines and inspired by the New York City World's Fair. A real 3D globe was filmed with a United Airlines model 747 circling the globe. Then a combination of hand drawn stills and real footage brought an illustrated flipbook passport to life. The flipbooks were about 4ft in height with all the images. We created about 16 different passports for countries all around the world.
Creating connectivity across the globe. Pushpins animate and recreate a oversize AT&T logo. Shot over 4 days with patience and pots of steaming English breakfast tea. An oversize 18" pushpin lands in frame followed by an army of blue pushpins animating across a white globe. Animated motion control on 35mm film, in-camera stop-frame animation and a little post production.
PBS and Kings meet with untimely deaths. Shot in a Staten Island gallery space and combined with actual oversize hand printed, cut outs/stop-frame animated portraits dropped into the picture framesin post - A history of real strange untimely deaths of various monarchs. Sorry!
A multi-media spot created for Microsoft. Live action shot first, then almost thousand printed frames created, cut out and re-animated frame by frame into a real 22" square book on a classic 'Mitchell' down shooter camera in Burbank, CA. Collaged money comes to life. We scanned numerous denominations into Adobe Photoshop and AfterEffects and created a fun Gilliamesque inspired animated world. After being on air for a short period it was banned. Fancy a Kwikie?
