Self-initiated project
I wanted to marry the beautiful high contrast between Didot with elegant Arabic calligraphy, something rather unusual. This took me down the route of exploring the forms of Arabic in the thin and thick strokes of Didot, with a very close eye on existing Didot typefaces, I crafted what I felt was a good balance. With many iterations and variations of all the letters, the Arabic formed rather well. A lot of additional finer work is needed on the thinner strokes to make sure they are legible as possible.
