The project objective was to create a lifestyle based Canadian magazine. The deliverables included cover designs, magazine spines, a letter to the editor along
with a table of contents and regular and feature articles.
The name Form & Function comes from the definition of what society has come to expect from manufacturers. The world is becoming more and more cluttered,
making people focus on the environment and pay a lot more attention to the things we buy. Greater concern over the green issues of the world have spawned a
more informed and educated consumer. Nothing in our world has one single use anymore, society has become more and more complex in their needs and wants.
Form & Function is a magazine for the modern Canadian man, focusing on his everyday life and the issues and topics that interest him. It’s readers want to stay in
touch with the latest in music, fashion and gadgets bringing a diverse and colourful dynamic to the magazine. Form & Function dives into current world issues effecting
Canadians and gets to the source of the issue providing detailed and in-depth reports.
This magazine design was submitted and received a final grade A+. Once comments were received, the regular and feature articles were slightly tweaked and images
were swapped out to improve the overall feel and look of the layout. This design was also submitted to the 2014 Adobe Design Achievement Awards where it received
a Semifinalist distinction in the print communications category among over 4400 international entries.
