The 2019-20 Australia bushfire season saw unprecedented damage. Although the fires have finally been contained, this poster calls for help to restore Australia's lost animal species and the perseverance of its wildlife moving forward.
The technique used in this poster is a paper cutting method to represent affected trees and vegetation impacted by the natural disaster. The colors within the fire were chosen from bushfire maps illustrating the wildfire path that were used by the media during that time.
While this bushfire season saw record-breaking heatwave and severe droughts, this poster used on social media shifts the focus on the role of all species in an ecosystem rather than implying that humans are the most affected population as portrayed by many traditional media news outlets. This poster raises awareness on the importance of on-going wildlife conservation to benefit all species and the extensive recuperation faced by Australia (with the help of volunteers and donors).
