In 2011 I first met Djala, a western lowland gorilla, in captivity at the Aspinall foundation in Kent, UK. Several years later, after weeks of searching for him up and down a river in the Gabon’s Batéké Plateau National Park, I found my self face to face with the very same gorilla, who had been since released into the wild. Djala and his family are a thriving success story of the Aspinall foundation’s hard work and commitment to Gorilla Conservation efforts.
The book has been published in seven foreign editions, with international exhibitions and is gaining extensive media around the world.
