Three 1000-HP prototypes in three different colors: The Porsche 919 Hybrids featuring the decals we designed raced in the 2015 World Endurance Championship (WEC). The highlight: They celebrated a double win at the 24-hour race at Le Mans on June 13/14, earning Porsche its 17th overall victory.
The three-color concept creates a visual link between the past, present and future. The red Porsche pays homage to the 917 KH, the carmaker’s first overall winner at Le Mans in 1970. The black Porsche commemorates the legendary 918 Spyder production car. White is the color that Porsche chose to return to high-performance sport after a 16-year absence. It represents the brand’s vision of the future.
Motorsports and »Porsche Intelligent Performance« make up the DNA of the sports car brand. The lettering featured prominently on the factory team’s Le Mans prototypes. While the wordmark itself is only visible from above, even the smallest fragments of the distinctive lettering reflect the identity of the brand.
The colors red, black and white forge a bridge between Porsche’s racing success from the past into the future. They effectively translate this carmaker’s racing expertise into a visual concept.
