In this assignment we were required to photograph a reflective metal object to show our knowledge of Snell's Law of reflection. While we could approach this assignment more technically, I wanted to add more concept within my image.
Approach
My approach was to use a chef's knife as my reflective metal object and show its application on a subject that was less predictable. While the idea was not to make a shocking image, it does have a bit of an edge for some viewers. The low key lighting was meant to bring out the metal, but also enhance the color of the heads.
Results
The final result was an image that reflected the growing acceptance of other non western traditional ingredients in the culinary field while also highlighting the key product within the shot.
