The institution divides it's activites to three areas. A forum, a lab and an exhibition space. I chose the three most basic geometrical shapes, as in circle, triangle and square and paired them with each area. I built up the logotype using these shapes in a simple grid. Coming from this, it has three versions, but the letters can be varied, this way showing that the three areas are part of the same process: building the future.
I chose these simple shapes because I believe that thinking about the future should be something that doesn't scare us, almost as simple as a children's toy.
The shapes and the grid system are recurring elements in the patterns and in the iconography as well. Different versions of the icons are used in different areas (floors).
I chose Helvetica as the main typeface, because I wanted to use something ageless which also compliments and fits well with the rather strong geometrical logotype and it's variations.
