As a tourism destination town renowned for the Hotel Del Coronado, Coronado Island Film Festival was looking to articulate its own distinct identity and experiences to stand on it's own from the many other events and festivals. We took on the challenge of redefining the image of this regional seaside festival.
Our campaign for 2020 captures and blends a little bit of Hollywood bravado by adding some glitz to the coastal vibe, sea, and sand. Inspired by the location, our golden mermaid (or film muse) emerges from the shoreline with the retro film reel becoming the focal point. Frames of Mind represents each filmmaker's minds eye that goes into every scene, every frame, every second that goes into creating a film. The reel serves as a window to reveal the wonders of how film takes you on a journey of heart and mind to different places and moments. Layered circles of light dance playfully around the reel, portraying the magic and spirit of imagination that drives the independent film experience.
As a film festival, our industry understands the value of a strong visual statement. To elevate the image of our 2020 festival brand, Patti not only delivered in spades with impact and class!
