Assignment
In the past few years I have gotten a little bit into the sport of Polo through friends, and I have ever since been fascinated by this world. I accompanied some tournaments with my camera and finally decided to create a Polo book as a personal work.
Approach
My friends got me into the inner circle of their club and I was able to get very close to the teams and the horses and get some rather intimate insights. For those horse portraits I set up a studio in one of the stables.
Results
In this spread shown here, my aim was to bring out the strength and elegance of the beautiful polo horses, their shiny fur and manes and their very own characters. Their calmness and patience was really fascinating.
