Applying typographic theories and principles, students develop a design system for a publication of their choice. The design system is visualized into a prototype of a final issue of the publication.
Approach
Off Shore explores the use of disruption with type and image to reflect the ebb and flow of the ocean. It uses figure ground reversal and rotation of text to further emphasize the fluid nature of surfing.
Results
This publication was applauded for it great sense of balance between type and image as well as positive and negative space.
