One of our assignments was a food shoot. I chose salami and then carefully selected the accompanying props of wood base, bread, figs, olives etc., to have a harmonious color palette and also echo the circular shapes of the salami slices.
The set was generally lit with diffused lighting at 2 stops darker than the mini spot lights, which illuminated the main point of focus, the salmai. Mirrors and other reflectors gave me the final control.
