This picture showed an Ilyushin IL-76TD-90VD cargo plane operated by Volga Dnepr Airlines arriving at Newburgh Stewart Int'l Airport, NY with full of medical supplies on board. During the hard times of this year, many nations are helping each other to overcome this difficulty of all humankind. This kind of Soviet Union-made machine supposed to be really hard to see in this part of the world. However, it brings hope, after flying across the globe, to reach out to the place where one needs help.

I get the message the night before this flight arrived. I was excited since if I succeeded, this would be my first time actually catching this rare type of airplane in this part of the world. After thinking all night about the meaningful concept behind this flight, I leave my apartment before dawn and driving upstate with a friend. When we get to Stewart, it started raining. The sky gets dark and I know that the background would be in bad condition if I shoot it from the side of the fuselage. So we decided to drive all the way down to the centerline of the runway to get a front view of the airplane. Luckily when the plane approaching and fly through the heavy clouds, it creates a vortex and let the sunlight get through. Capturing this fantastic moment, I think we have the lucky as well as making the right decision.

I would say that I have got an image beyond my imagination and expectation. For me, this would definitely be one of the outstanding pictures I have taken.
