Our Walking Dead Chop Shop app—a Hyundai car configurator centered around zombie survival—was due for a big showing at New York Comic-Con. But we wanted to engage the hardcore fans even further.
Approach
We created a Comic-Con-exclusive journal extending the narrative. It details the accounts of an anonymous engineer responsible for the parts found inside the Chop Shop app, complete with field notes, journal entries, and original artwork from the illustrators of The Walking Dead comics.
Results
Due to its ultra-limited run (only 500 distributed at Comic-Con), the journal has already become a rare collector’s item, listing for as much as $999 on eBay.
