During Australia's nation-wide bushfire emergency of 2020, conservative politicians tryed to place the blame on those who manage Australia's national parks and forests. By using the concept of 'hazard reduction', (removing dry or dead bush litter), they tried to take attention away from their own inaction on climate change. This attempt did not succeed so they then tried to place the blame on arsonists. Many saw that the true culprits were in fact the politicians themselves.
By turning the often used phrase as the reason why the fires were so devastating, the headline 'Hazard Reduction' draws attention to the real culprits, Australia's conservative politicians. These politicians have censor bars across their faces to protect their identities, unfortunately highlighter markers have been used which achieves the opposite. The background color was the color of the sky over eastern Australia in early 2020 and the image in the background is of the Australian Parliament in Canberra.
