Le Coq Es Mort is a family owned French poultry shop with strong traditional values. The goal of this project was to create a logo for the Le coq es Mort poultry business. (translation: The rooster is dead.
The goal of this project was to create a logo combining two different objects. The Le Coq Es Mort brandmark incorporates a chicken with a butcher knife.
The proposed brandmark is successful because the butcher knife takes place of the dead chicken’s body, a metaphor for the end of chickens or those who lack a plucky attitude. The emblem style and earth tone colors, such as brown and burnt orange, further the owner’s traditional values as well as the essence of the meats sold.
