The assignment was to design a feature spread for the article, "The Rise of the Incredible Edible Insect," written by Brooke Borel.

My approach was a lighter vibe with a visual food pun, using bees and honeycomb as the "ice cream" cone (dubbed, "honeycone"). The overall visuals are light and airy, so as to replicate a playful and satisfying feel to eating ice cream.

I used handwritten "honey" type to create the words "edible" and to generate interest as well as connecting my imagery with the headline. The honeycone imagery was created in Photoshop. Using white space, simplistic colors, and sans serif typography, I generated a pristine layout with a clear concept and complementary type.
