The assignment was to design a logo for SOCOBA (say suh-KOH-buh), a new, non-profit that helps the victims of HIV/AIDS in Mabule, Botswana.
My approach was to convey SOCOBA’s fresh and innovative approach through bold, custom-drawn letters of differing widths. The bright colors reflect their hopeful and optimistic approach to empowering the people of Mabule.
The client embraced the proposed solution. At this point a number of programs —such as HIV education and prevention, a school uniform initiative, and a program to provide a permanent source of fresh, clean water — are being developed and implemented.
