“Poster for Tomorrow” is the main project of “4tomorrow”, an independent, non-profit organisation based in Paris. Its goal is to encourage designers to make posters to stimulate debate on issues that affect us all. Every year Poster for Tomorrow chooses a basic human right to draw attention to and organize international poster competition and exhibitions throughout the world. In 2012, the theme was “Gender Equality Now!”. Poster “Woman is not an Object” was made for the competition.
"Woman Is Not An Object" is poster against women discrimination. On the poster woman is treated as an object, furniture waiting to be used. She has no dignity, has no face, has no humanity. Poster's message is that this is unacceptable, that must be stopped, that woman is not an object. Women must be treated with respect, as human beeings equal to men.
“Woman is not an Object” poster has won "The Best Ten Posters" of "Poster for Tomorrow" award in Paris, 2012. http://www.posterfortomorrow.org/en/gallery/year/2012
Awards that followed were: Graphis Gold Poster Annual 2014, Graphis Gold Design Annual 2014, So(cial) Good Design Award 2013 in Toronto, Association of Aplied Artists and Designers ULUPUBIH award in 2013, and many international acknowledgements.
But what is important, more than awards and acknowledgements, is that poster attracted the attention of international and local audience and started debates on woman rights issues.
