Design and rebrand elements of the nine beaches of Cape May County, that capture the essence and personality of each of the beaches. The challenge is to create a branding system that allows for unique designs that represent each beach, all while staying cohesive as an overall brand known as the Jersey Cape. Within this rebrand, the elements that are designed are eleven unique beach tags, a comprehensive website for all nine of the beaches, and an illustrated map of the coast, highlighting all of the beaches and key attractions at each of these locations.
In order to create a brand that captures fun and whimsy of the Jersey beaches, I determined the best approach to for the overall design was to use an illustrative style. This design approach was the best way for me to capture and convey the essence of the Jersey Shore.
A cohesive illustrated rebranding of the nine beaches of Cape May County, otherwise known as the Jersey Cape. The use of a single illustration style throughout the Jersey Cape brand creates a cohesive feel from one aspect of the project to the next. From beach tags to the website, and the map, each element had unique imagery that captured the fun and whimsy of the beaches being branded.
As a designer, the resultant project allowed me to push my illustration skills and my test my ability to create a style that is cohesive throughout countless elements. It was proof that I have a cohesive and unique style that can translate across all mediums of design.
