This project aimed to create a rebrand for Orchard Skate Shop that does not feel bound by age, gender, or experience level and is focused heavily on environmental impact and supporting the local skateboarding community.
The process began with research of the competition and chiseling out a concrete brand voice. With a brand voice focusing on inclusion and environmental impact, research was done on skateboarding culture, illustration styles, and color palettes to base our branding around. The branding elements needed to feel like they belong in a skate shop, while also taking a more approachable direction than traditional skateboard culture.
The project successfully created elements that feel cohesive with competitors and market research while developing promotions of different environmental programs that make the shop unique. The color palette and the lively illustration style feel bold enough to appear on a skateboard without feeling abrasive or aggressive.
