Assignment
The goal of this assignment was to create an infographic of the student's topic of choice and then base a subscription box off of the infographic. The design was to be represented similarly throughout both pieces and all of the items within the box.
Approach
For my infographic, I decided to research the Apollo 11 Conspiracy Theory. Since the photos are so iconic, I wanted to use illustration to clearly demonstrate the conspiracists thoughts and include a debunked point in order to remain unbiased. In order to base the subscription box off of the infographic, I decided to create a company called Conspiracy Case that would send monthly conspiracies for the customer to investigate; Apollo 11 being the first one. I aimed to use design elements from the infographic in order to tie the two pieces together.
Results
The results of the infographic includes a dark space image with close up illustrations of the facts in order to help explain. The box includes a badge of the Apollo 11 lunar lander that alludes to the astronaut badges, info cards with real images based off of the infographic, and a CD with an introduction of how Conspiracy Case works. It also includes a test tube filled with "moon dust" which is just kinetic sand to show the sarcasm of the box and a card in a wax sealed envelope that when solved reveals the code to receive the next box.
