The brief was to create an idealogical poster for the AGDA Poster Annual ‘Inspired by music’ that might touch the heart, move people in profound and emotional ways and engage the public with themes and ideas that they can relate to and by inspired by, just as music often does.

The poster was inspired by songs of apartheid, songs of hope and spirit.
This poster speaks to humans most basic instincts for hope in times of conflict, whether looking at a struggle on an individual level or on a larger scale that may be the consequence of social, political or economic conditions. In times of darkness, one often loses sight of hope. The poster is ultimately optimistic, it is a belief in humanity that there will be help in the darkest of times. It asks us to have hope and to help - these concepts are intertwined.
