AIGA is the world’s oldest and largest design organization, with a stated mission to bring the world to design and design to the world. The AIGA Triad North Carolina Chapter was holding a series of events to unite the local design community. We developed four analogue event posters to create interest within the creative community around a series of local events being held during AIGA Triad's Design Month.
The four posters are individually distinct yet demonstrate a shared visual language and sensibility. Layered and deconstructed, they invite a closer viewing to unlock the various informational and logistical elements associated with each event. Local, accessible and design-forward, they stand as a simulacrum of the goals of Design Month itself.
In today’s digital world posters are often overlooked as an option for communicating upcoming events. However, creatives have a love for this kind of ephemera, which has value both as a branding moment and as a keepsake. The four posters not only telegraphed the events of AIGA Design Month, but became an impromptu event in their own right, inspiring engagement, participation and conversation.
