Science is US promotes support for STEM among politicians and community influencers across the country. It needed a visual identity to unite leaders in science, engineering, industry, higher education, and labor. The look and feel could not be over-produced as the value in this organization is the authentic nature of non-traditional allies organically coming together in a nonpartisan way to affect change.
The bold, under-designed visual identity communicates the inclusive vision of the organization. Black font gives weight to the logo while not trying to attract attention to itself; a striking red line underscores words that cycle through definitions of science, carving out space for multiple perspectives and voices. Its nonpartisan, inclusive approach is the antithesis of a cosmetic marketing logo. Intentionally dry yet bursting with energy. The final definition, “Science is US” conveys the idea at the core of the organization: Science brings us together.
Since its launch in 2020, the organization has expanded its community-led, grasstops initiative by finding local community influencers to reach new audiences across five states.
