Each season Karla Colletto needs to reinvent her line of swimsuits to keep up with the ever-changing fashion industry. The challenge is to make the new line marketable and memorable to purchasers, retailers, and to the magazine community. In 2009 it marked 25 years for the designer and we needed to make a splash. We proposed retrospective look at past lines and designs over 25 years; but given the economic downturn we had to be resourceful. Having half the budget we normally have, we proposed look book at twice the size as previous years. To save money we opted to work with cheap talent (mannequins) and shoot in a small studio in Washington DC. While it took over 5 days to style and shoot all the images, the end result was well worth it.
