2014 was a great year for Western Alliance Bancorporation. With various banks represented in three states, WAL helped a plethora of businesses find success this year. With that, WAL wanted to showcase various success stories of their clients from the past year for their 2014 annual report, and enlisted the help of Kitchen Sink Studios to do so.
Kitchen Sink Studios wanted to elevate the design, look and quality of the 2014 report from past reports. We went with a non-traditional look that was set apart and elevated. We looked to international banks for graphic design inspiration, and everything we chose - from the bold colors and high-quality typeface to the matte cover with the high gloss soft touch - was to highlight this higher-quality level of design. From Creative Director Doug Bell’s perspective, "We wanted to enrich the brand of WAL from past reports with a fresh and clean new look that would resonate with past clients and pick up new clients along the way. WAL already had brand standards, so we wanted to compliment the current look-and-feel while coming across as smart and well-organized. We did this through beautiful and clean type and design, to help tighten up the perception of WAL."
The result was a sleek, professional report infused with stunning photography and clean, precise information and graphs. 26,000 annual reports were printed and distributed amongst WAL’s 47 branches, and are still garnering praise and recognition to this day.
