This project uses principles of typography to create a cohesive book jacket design for the novel, "A Handful of Dust," by Evelyn Waugh. I also strived to connect the typographic elements with similar properties for both legibility and aesthetic purposes.
Through research and planning, I conceptualized the design for the book jacket so it remains cohesive with the tone and plot of the novel. With the dull color palette and rugged textures, I intended to emphasize the claustrophobic feeling the main character endures while trapped in the rainforest alone.
The design was recognized through Texas Christian University's 9th Annual Banned Book Competition where it placed third overall and received an Award of Excellence.
