Quinta dos Murças estate is located in the centre of the DOC Douro region (north of Portugal), best known for the world famous Port Wine that grows amid breathtaking landscapes. This estate of Esporão, with eight terroirs marked by different altitudes and sun exposure, was one of the first in the country to grow vertical vineyards, taking the most benefit from the slopes of the land. The oblique geometry of these peculiar lines, their expressive graphic nature, was the inspiration for the Quinta dos Murças identity and for the label collection designed for the wines.
For their Douro valley estate, Esporão wanted an image that was both recognizable, since their Alentejo estate has produced wine since 1985, and unique, asserting a new identity.

The stark geometry of the logo, inscribed in an heraldic shape, resonates with the history of the estate and the DOC Douro region.

The translation of that starck geometry to the labels, in bold, solid colours, intends to update and modernize that important heritage, meeting contemporary demands.
