Challenged with creating a unique film festival based around the genre of the Alfred Hitchcock film, North by Northwest, I created iSpy Film festival, an event celebrating the best espionage flicks of all time. Project guidelines included creating a promotional poster for this film festival utilizing hand-manipulated typography and hierarchy to catch one's attention and subsequently provide information about the dates, location, and featured film of the festival.

To address the challenge of hand created type, materials from everyday life were arranged and manipulated to form the headline that reads, "In Plain Sight." The composition reflects a game of the familiar classic iSpy, with a collection of random objects displayed on a dark background. The letters are artfully hidden within the array of objects, just as a spy is hidden "in plain sight" within society. Along with the household objects, other items that correlate with the featured film, North by Northwest, are hidden throughout.

This project was successful in that it effectively utilized typography to convey the irony within the headline– it reads "in plain sight" while the letters are hidden within the objects. It effectively draws from the classic iSpy game while adding a dark twist, catching the viewer's attention and sparking curiosity.
