Through my research, I found that the majority of negative environmental impact is caused by a few corporations. That being said, there are a few things you can do at the individual level. This includes cutting out red meat which consumes a lot of water throughout its production and buying locally owned produce that lacks plastic packaging. Badass Goods’ subsidiary, Byeson Burgers, is a vegan restaurant that eliminates the negative impact caused by meat production, and the marketplace features locally-owned, ethical, and sustainable businesses.
The design of Badass Goods is highly illustrative as BAG Boy, the mascot, acts as a guide between the consumer and the brand. The earth-inspired colors, green, yellow, and off-blue, pay homage to the environment, and the hand-drawn element and natural paper and textures give the client a sense of the homegrown.
