To design a logo for the Icelandic Museum of Natural History. The logo should reflect the role of the museum and refer to nature in a broad sense, its distinctive features and characteristics. The mark must be interesting, simple and easy to use in all media. The Icelandic Museum of Natural History conducts research, training and dissemination of information about nature, natural history, and utilization of natural resources in Iceland.
The logo combines on one hand, the symbol for one of the earliest natural fossilised cochlea that have been found in Iceland and on the other hand a symbol for "Museum" in the shape of a curved door that is the entrance of the spiral / snail that houses, stores and preserves the history of Natures remnants. Furthermore it the form indicates the letter "n" in lower case which is the first letter of the name of the museum in Icelandic: Náttúruminjasafn (Lit.: Natures Museum). The green color represent nature. The brown color in the name refers to the soil that preserves natures relics.
