A two-story wall mural for the lobby of a boutique hotel in the rural town of Ellensburg, Washington.

After considering a variety of materials and approaches, we decided to use a custom wallpaper application which allowed us to digitally collage images and text that have significant meaning to the small town of Ellensburg, Washington. Working with the local library, we scoured the archives for images that represented the broad history of the town, ranging from hay, agriculture and rodeo, to the historic downtown and beautiful valley landscape.

The owners and staff of the Hotel Windrow have made it their goal to include local artists and designers in every aspect of the hotel. We were thrilled to be selected for this project and love the warm and inviting feel the mural creates for the space. By visually sharing a bit of the community's history through design that is unlike anything else in this small town, we were able to create a space that has both deep meaning and a visually creative atmosphere.
