The project goal was to select a company from a list and create an ad campaign for said company. The campaign could feature the entire company or just a subset of the company. The deliverables for the campaign were two single or one double page spread, a billboard, an out of home ad, and an Instagram ad.
Our team selected Burt's Bees and decided to feature their newly released CBD line. Our goal with the CBD line was create an ad campaign that featured the benefits of CBD without leaning into any stigmatized wording or visuals that typically surround CBD related products. Burt's Bees' company values center around benefitting nature and using only the most natural products. We started with this idea and the idea of self care to guide ourselves in how to creatively approach the ad campaign.
Our resulting ad campaign touts the headline "Nature Knows Best" which plays off of the idea of "Mother knows best" and "Mother Nature". Through vibrant photography we emphasized nature and the natural-ness of the CBD product featured on the ad. We used the body copy to emphasize how the product would help and nourish skin using the line of thinking that "Nature knows what's best for your skin". The campaign continues in the form of a billboard, outdoor banner, and Instagram ad that feature the product, headline, logo, and more vibrant floral imagery.
