Baseball Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera and his wife Clara founded the Mariano Rivera Foundation in 1998 to provide children from impoverished families the life skills that will set them on the path to a brighter future. We were approached to create an identity that credibly embodies the spirit and values of the foundation, helping to communicate its ambitious goals in the growing organization.
The system communicates positive attributes of a winning philosophy. The mark was designed to reference Mariano’s faith, as well as the foundation’s collective commitment to improving the lives of others. Messaging is bold, empowering youth and volunteers alike to be Strong, Brave & Capable. The system extends to iconography supporting the organization’s initiatives and ambitious goals. Other materials host a variety of efforts to move the foundation forward, including fundraising, building out facilities and inviting others to join in support of the mission.
The brand update resulted in a new identity worthy of the hall-of-famer and the organization that bears his name. The extended system for the foundation created a higher level of credibility and continuity to ongoing fundraising efforts, drawing increasing donations and support.
