A major theme of the film is cultural change, which is expressed through the characters who lived through various decades from the 1930s to the 1980s. Therefore, I determined that the title sequence would highlight the mood of the different 20th century decades discussed in the film, as well as its characters. I utilized collage using found home-video footage on Super-8 film to evoke elements of their character arc and capture the zeitgeist of the decade in which each character is from.
