Dermstore wanted to evolve beyond being simply a marketplace for skincare. To date, the brand had felt somewhat transactional based on their low prices and had the look to match. The goal was to convey science and modernity in an elevated way that allowed Dermstore to credibly sell a range of expensive cutting-edge scientific brands to trendy indie products. With so many diverse brands and products on sale, the identity had to have a presence but also play nicely with others.
SLATE helped Dermstore focus on who they are at their core; a platform for skintelligence, powered by their own community of experts, brands and consumers. At the center of the rebrand is the logo, a symbol for exploration and analysis, inspired by a dermatologist’s magnifying glass. The bold yet sophisticated visual identity system helps reinforce their position as a purveyor of the worlds finest professional skincare, and leader in the growing prestige beauty landscape.
