We developed key art for Black Narcissus, a 3-part miniseries that was a re-interpretation of the 1947 film of the same name. We aimed to avoid duplicating imagery directly from the original film, but instead we channeled the same themes through a modern lens.
In line with the award-winning cinematography and art direction from the original film, we wanted to capture that same essence of creating a true “in-camera moment" as close as possible. The intense, forced-perspective highlights the setting of the extreme height of the Monastery nestled deep in the Himalayas.
Complemented by the secondary finish, our Black Narcissus Poster created a dynamic outdoor and online campaign that was well-received by the industry. It also garnered some top Key Art accolades at the end of 2020.
