North Texas Tollway Authority owns, operates, and manages the toll road systems in four North Texas counties, and has agreements with several midwest and southern states. They are required to report their financials annually.
The 2015 annual report was one of our first assignments for NTTA. So we imposed a lot of pressure on ourselves because of the implications the design would have on future work. We approached the report like an editorial assignment for a magazine. Heavy on intriguing graphics to carry the weight of lots of numbers and statistics. The Texas illustration for the cover came fast, and the balance of the book came together as the reporting deadline loomed.
Since the annual report was published in June 2016, the results are all anecdotal. Our client feels pride in the way we are communicating their brand. The marketings execs had never received a compliment on the annual reports of the past. They heard from 8 board members that this 2015 report was the best the company had ever published. We'll take that as high praise.
