Create an infographic using data collected from 108 independent pharmacies on the east coast. Use the data to help other independent pharmacies make decisions that will improve their bottom line.
Our research and data analysis indicated an interest in unplanned—also known as impulse—purchases. To determine common product combinations, we performed association rule mining on the major product categories. The visualization of these association rules revealed existing interest in purchasing beauty and personal care together as well as a potential lack of interest in purchasing items like edibles or beauty along with health care products. We used this information along with our research and analysis to suggest methods by which independent pharmacies could increase sales.
Our graphic is based on the attention-grabbing colors and design elements of store signage as well as the packaging of common impulse products. Overall, the graphic identifies and expands upon each stage of our research, analysis, and solutions to allow the data to speak for itself.
