The assignment was to design posters that raise awareness about Type Design Competition and invite viewers to submit their work to the Type Directors Club by the 17th of December.

My design approach was to use vivid colors and geometry through overlapping of text. The lift of letters such as “M” in “COMPETITION” and “DECEMBER” as well as “TYPE” contribute to the exploratory and playful nature of the posters. I limited my colors to black, red, teal and white to emphasize the nature of type and its potential to create visually stimulating designs on their own. In the other posters, the triangles echoes the form of “Y” and squares echo the form of “E” when types are overlapped.

The playful overlapping of texts combined with geometric patterns invite the viewers to explore and investigate type and submit their work by the December 17th deadline.
