The assignment for this project was to create a poster advertising a film festival. We were randomly given the name of a movie and were required to create a film festival theme that our posters would be based upon.

My festival is titled Mystery Fest and is a compilation of the AFI's Top Mystery Movies. In order to represent the feeling of mystery movies, I photographed a file folder on a wooden desk. This, along with the added details such as blood and a drink, help to give off the feeling of being within a detectives office during an important case. Because most of my movies are from older periods, I created a sepia/grain effect.

After shooting my photo, I added on the information digitally through multiple styles of typography. My final project was printed to be 20x30.
