The project was to listen to and interpret the 1950's "Old Time Radio" special entitled "Mars is Heaven." Then we were instructed to create 3 Key Frame moments for the story. The image depicted is one of those Key Frame images.
Approach
My approach was to marry the aesthetic of the 1950's Buck Roger-esque design with a more eery Mars landscape in the vein of Moebius and Victor Mosquera to feel empty, quiet, and unsettling.
Results
The project did prove successful in capturing the mood and aesthetic I was seeking from the beginning. The composition was easy to read and the value structure guided the eye to the important elements of story.
