In Chinese tradition, certain numbers are believed to be auspicious. The word for 'eight' (八 Pinyin: bā) sounds similar to the word which means 'prosper' or 'wealth'. Three eights is considered very lucky.
To encourage the Chinese to invest and emigrate to Australia, the Australian Government named this particular Visa the ‘888’ or the ‘Triple 8’ Visa. This logo was designed for one of the the investment funds that promotes this Visa.

To augment the theme of luck and harmony, the three eights were entwined and interlocked to create the meaning of a ‘endless’ wealth and prosperity.
On the brochure the logo was laser cut from the cover to allude to the positive vision of Australia contained within.

Extraordinarily successful. The logo was particularly admired and remarked upon by the Chinese candidates, as being 'masterful' and 'very auspicious'.
