The Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) needed to build an exhibit that captured the volcano of imagination and lasting influence of Jim Henson’s work in puppetry, children’s education, television, and cinema.
We crafted a coherent visual language, architecture, and design for The Jim Henson Exhibition. As part of the campaign, the first thing that COLLINS crafted was a new typeface we called “Kernit” - in honor of Kermit the Frog. Kernit has two display weights: Kernit Bold and Kernit Outline, which can be mixed together to bring breaks and visual rhythm to layouts
Kernit was distributed online for free and downloaded by over 12,000 designers all over the world at https://justkernit.com.
