The goal of this project was to create a new logo for Astro Saint Records, located in Portland, Oregon. The brand that combines two seemingly different themes, so it needed a more distinct and memorable logo that establishes “the face” of such a mysterious name.
Approach
For the new brand mark, I decided to overlay the shape of an astronaut’s helmet with the shape of a record. The inside label on the record becomes the open-close mechanism on the helmet. The logo is completed by the glass face mask portion and the air-tight collar.
Results
The redesign of the logo is catchy, fun, bright and lively which amplifies the fun energy of the record store while maintaining its purpose as an enduring classic logo.
