In my graduate studio course, we were tasked with developing and designing a fictional startup of our own creation based around an area of personal interest or passion. My startup, Gable, is a mobile experience that allows users to explore cities through the lens of architecture. Through Gable, users can learn and explore their destinations more meaningfully through a structured system of gamified lessons, adventures, and rewards. The platform expands users knowledge of new and familiar places by gamifying the learning experience and providing an immersive way of exploring.

The Gable logo combines serif and sans serif elements, carefully crafted and refined, evocative of the architectural relics that make up the foundation of the brand. The soft curvatures and strong forms combine to create a structured elegance that is both practical and beautiful.

The iconography system is modular and meant to emulate the eclectically charming nature of a neighborhood–every home is unique. They are interchangeable, working well individually or as a set. Users feel excited and inspired to enjoy the world around them. The illustrative style is made up of simple line drawings, evocative of architectural sketches. The style is showcased in Gabletown, the application’s in-game world.

Gable's brand is playful yet polished down to the last detail. The sleek, structural components are offset by bright pops of color, detailed illustration, and stunning imagery to create moments of beauty and delight.

Gable allows users to connect deeply with both the history of a place and the local businesses that make it what it is today. It acts as a digital docent, providing users with an interactive experience and celebrating all that makes up a city.
